Nebraska offers hunters the unique chance to hunt both Mule Deer and Whitetail Deer on the same permit hunters' choice! Nebraska state big game hunting permits for firearms are on a limited quota drawing basis for all non-resident hunters and we have perfected obtaining these coveted licenses practically guaranteeing our hunters are allowed to hunt with NO lengthy waits acquiring preference points as seen in nearly every other western state! Nebraska also offers hunters the option to purchase 2 buck tags, 1 Muley only, giving our clients options not seen in other states.

We hunt over 40,000 all private game managed acres in 2 separate adjoining Game Management Units (GMU'S) Buffalo MDCA and Loup West, both are in Custer County and have extremely high overall rates of success most years exceeding 80% unit wide for all methods. We have had excellent shooting opportunity on legal bucks for well over 25 years and expect to have the same results for the foreseeable future giving our hunters an extremely high chance to take home the buck of a lifetime!

We base all of our hunters in Broken Bow centrally located in Custer County and in the heart of the Sandhill Region known for its heavy deer populations. Each hunter receives a suite with full kitchen at the National Historic Landmark ARROW HOTEL (ArrowHotel.com) conveniently located on the town square and within a 15-to-30 minute drive of all of our hunting areas. Each hunter is provided with daily transport to the hunting area/stands, daily field breakfast/lunch, game field preparation and delivery of the hunter's trophy to our local processor (Merna Pack) and taxidermist (Mean Creek Taxidermy) if desired. We DO NOT provide the evening meal which is available in the hotel or at one of Broken Bows many restaurants. We do gather with our hunters each evening in the hotel to share the day's events/successes and to prepare for the next day's hunt. The Hotel is extremely gracious to our hunters and is the original home of the famous ONE BOX PHEASANT TOURNAMENT. The nearest commercial airport is Grand Island 1.5 hours away, Lincoln is 3.5 hours and Denver is 5 hours. Airport pickup can be arranged for an additional fee.
All hunts are guided and take place out of modern ladder stands, ground blinds and cedar brush blinds. We have some spot and stalk opportunities, but they are limited due to the extremely rugged canyons and heavy cedar cover found on our properties. Many of our hunters expect Nebraska to be flat and tall grass, that is absolutely the furthest from the truth! The Sandhills are very rugged and VERY vertical We have found over the many years we have been doing hunts in the area that a well-made plan of being quiet and still allowing game to move naturally through our areas to feed and rut not only gives us very high success rates but MUCH better than average quality! Our strategy results in an increase in deer numbers on our property as the season progresses as surrounding area hunters drive and push deer onto our prime unmolested cover areas. Each year we take excellent bucks I have never seen before that I know where displaced by slamming truck doors and hunters unwilling to get out of their ATVS in the surrounding area!

The Deer Hunts
All of our full-service hunts are priced the same rifle, black powder and archery hunt as described above with 4 full days of hunting for rifle hunts and 5 days for BP and archery, all lodging, all permit fees, and basic game quartering for transport to your home or processor.  We also have a local processor that does excellent work available.

Beginning again in 2025 we may continue our previous offer to allow hunters an additional whitetail buck (only) for a trophy fee of $1750.00. I will make a decision as I evaluate the herd in late summer.

Merriam Turkey Hunts
Turkeys took a very hard hit across the Midwest in the last few seasons affected by summer draught, winter kill and in some area's disease. States canceled fall seasons entirely and many have gone to a limited draw with extremely restricted permit numbers.
Nebraska has cut tags back but is allowing 10,000 non-resident tags to be issued in spring 2025. I had cut back hunter numbers radically (family only) to protect my birds but feel this year I can take 8-10 hunters and have the normal excellent results our customers have come to expect.

Bison Hunting
Since the recession and the general public discovery of the awesome flavor and health benefits of Bison prices have fluctuated wildly and we have seen on the hoof pricing of over $10.00 a pound at several auctions we attend such as Yellow Stone, Custer State Park and Valentine National Wildlife Refuge where we purchase our bison in order to get animals that are as wild as possible. If you are interested in hunting a bison that has spent its life as a free ranging wild animal we can provide what you are looking for and will be glad to quote you a price based on the size of bull desired, current market structure and availability.
